That's right, no merchant account is required. The setup process is as easy as adding a single "Buy Now" button to your web site. A "Buy Now" button is an image that you can display next to an item in your web site and that allows buyers to purchase these items from your store using the Google Checkout process. The more items you have to sell, just add more "Buy Now" buttons.

Valid only for new Google Processing Service merchants with self-managed AdWords Program and Processing Service accounts. Advertising merchants will be charged for ads that exceed the promotional credit and must suspend their ads if they do not wish to receive additional charges beyond the free credit amount. Subject to Google approval, valid registration, and acceptance of the Google AdWords Program and Processing Service standard terms and conditions. The promotional credit is non-transferable and may not be sold or bartered. Offer may be revoked at any time for any reason by Google Inc. One promotional credit per merchant. The total promotional credit amount is $50. For new AdWords Program registrants, an activation fee will be applied and deducted from the promotion credit. Promotional credit must be used within 30 days of account creation. Expires July 31, 2007.
